This site is dedicated to the rugged and reliable Toyota Land Cruiser and the Cruiserheads who take them off road.
The 25th Annual TLCA Rubithon in 2013. A few photos from my favorite part of the Rubicon trail - the Old Sluice. Checkout the action as Mudrak leads the "Double Locker Run" up the Old sluice at the infamous Volkswagon Rock. Great wheeling on a awesome trail with good friends! Once we camped at the Rubicon Springs we relaxed and checked out all the interesting Toyota Land Cruisers and Cruiserheads from around the country.read more

I left my cruiser at home and flew to Anchorage to join a small group of Alaskan and Canadian cruiserheads on a "scouting expedition" deep into the Alaskan wilderness. We explored new areas well beyond any previously traveled trails. Ten days and 250+ miles of extreme off-road adventure.Check out the pictures
When I heard a small group of 80 Series Land Cruiser owners were planning to take their luxury SUVs through the Rubicon trail I knew I had to be there.read more
We estimated one hundred and fifty Land Cruisers and Toyota 4WD trucks converged on the sands of Pismo Beach. Most people camped on the beach, others stayed in local motels, everyone enjoyed being part of this large gathering of Land Cruiser enthusiasts and their trucks.Trip Report, pictures, links, more
With the Toyota Land Cruiser Surf N Turf only a month away, the SLO locals thought a "pre-run" of the Garcia Ridge trail was in order. This is one of the trails available to the Surf N Turf crowd when we make our trek from the beach to the Pozo Saloon.Check out the pics
The Dusy- Ershim trail begins at 8,400 feet and quickly rises to over 10,000 feet elevation. The 31 mile long trail is located in the remote Sierra Nevada mountians. In late July 2004 five Toyota Land Cruisers tackled this difficult trail. The vehicles included two FJ40s, two FZJ80s and Knuckles my FJ60.Check out the pics
The PMC swapmeet, is hosted by the Pacific Mountain Cruisers Club. in Petaluma, CA. Cruiserheads from all over Northern California come together to buy, sell and trade parts at this annual event. There's a lot more to see and do besides swapping parts, including show prizes and a huge raffle. One of the most gnarly spots on Cliff Hanger has to be the namesake obstacle. When we reached the narrow shelf road and looked at the huge step Jeremiah reminded us that whoever went down would have to drive back up. This was a very intimidating piece of trail and several people decided to take an early lunch. read more
It was hot and cold, rainy and dry, windy and still, high and low, even the road was closed and open, but in a word, it was Death Valley in February.read more
The best part about Surf N Turf was seeing so many Cruiserheads, from so many places, coming together for a good time. The Oceano Dunes State Park is a great place to hang out and enjoy our Toyota Land Cruisers. There was plenty of room to camp on the beach and 1,500 acres of sand dunes to explore.read more
This was my first attempt at driving the trail "backwards", from Lake Tahoe to Loon Lake. Going in the reverse direction meant driving uphill through several tight, boulder infested sections that are next to impossible in the "normal" downhill direction.read more
I was looking forward to driving over distant horizons, again and again, without seeing any paved roads, power lines or people and I wasn't disappointed. This was a trip full of contrasts, endless wide open valleys to narrow rock filled canyons, strange dry lake beds below sea level to pine trees and snow covered mountain over 7,000 feet tall.Pictures and more
We just finished the first Toyota Land Cruiser "Surf n Turf" at Pismo Beach, California. It’s been quite a week! A couple of months ago I decided to loosely organize a couple of days of camping and wheeling at the Oceano Dunes plus a couple of local trails. The idea was to share the unique local wheeling opportunities here on the central coast.

TLCA's Rubithon 2002
Yep, got lot's of cool pictures to sift through. I wheeled
in Thursday morning behind a FZJ80, FJ55 and FJ60. No
offense to the shorties, but it was awesome to look ahead
and see the line of wagons moving down the trail.
The rescue of Jack's '76 FJ40 from Alaska's Knik
River.

... couple of rigs afloat, overturned and
sunk, people in the (35 degree F) water, rescue by the
pilots of overflying aircraft, Jack's very nice FJ40 left
with only the top of the roll bar and tip of the snorkle
showing above the rushing water.
