We started the trip by turning off the road just North of Trona. The first stop was Manly Pass looking into the Panamint Valley. Chris's FJ60, Tom's FZJ80, Kevo's Minitruck and Jim's FZJ80.

Bluemax ready for the desert.

Entering Goler wash. Very dramatic as you leave the open valley floor to enter the narrow canyon.

The desert crew: Jim, Kevo, Tom, Katherine and Chris.

Greater View cabin with running water!

The cabins we saw were very interesting. These are availble on a first come basis to visitors.

The guestbooks contain some outrageous entries. Katherine is reading a 1991 entry written by a girl kidnapped by two men as a child. She now choses to live with them, getting them beer and they take care of her, not a bad life she figures. Ture story - who knows? Interesting reading - you bet.

This is a very nice cabin with a great view.

Back on the road, we learned to spread out to avoid the dust.

The beginning of the Lippencott Mine road.

Narrow switchbacks and the Saline Valley in the background.

We found the road to be in great shape.
